Poem a Day 2014: Nikky Finney’s “Girlfriend’s Train” (#9)

Nikky Finney is a brilliant American poet, winner of, among many awards, the 2011 National Book Award for Poetry (check out here awesome acceptance speech here). Today’s selection was the first Finney poem I encountered, “Girlfriend’s Train,” read by the poet herself:
