Here is my review of BU Professor of Religion Stephen Prothero’s great book. It’s an excellent read for anyone wanting to learn more about Islam, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Yoruba religion, Judaism, and Daoism, and it offers some views on atheism as well.
While I do admire the writings of perennial philosopher Huston Smith, I have been won over to Prothero’s view that all religions are not merely different paths up to the summit of the same mountain: to cement-mix all faiths in admiration is as misleading as it is to lump them all together in condemnation.
